- My wife and I have done several remodeling projects before - mostly small do-it-yourself stuff. A couple of years ago we undertook the ultimate remodeling project - building a new house. We had a 1978 double-wide manufactured home that was quickly deteriorating, and a piece of property too good to just sell and move from. We lived in our garage for just under a year as the new house was being built, but the end result sure was worth it.
