Experience: Interior design business for 12 years after having a retail store for nine years. I grew up in the business. My family has a furniture manufacturing business and I was in the warehouse all the time as a kid.

Formal Education: School for Interior Architecture in Mexico City.

Organizations: ASID, IIDA, Northwest Ecobuilding Guild, and the Cascadia chapter of the US Green Building Council.

Trends: People want their house to reflect who they are; they want to customize their home... not necessarily improve the retail value but to improve their quality of life. There’s a big trend right now to remodel your home to be more environmentally aware.

Favorite Projects: I love working with people. I worked with a client and literally changed her life -- she never entertained but after the redesign, she had people over all the time. I enjoy discovering solutions that work for a client's lifestyle. I want everyone to be happy so right away I establish trust with my clients and that helps make the process enjoyable.

Philosophy: To help people enhance their quality of life – “live better in your house” is my motto.
